Conducting Fire Risk Assessments, Safely

At Excel Fire, we work in the business of safety – so sifting through the government’s latest advice for transitioning into the ‘new normal’ is second nature to us. Needless to say, we’re extremely excited and more than keen to get back out there conducting fire risk assessments, overseeing certified fire door installations and consulting with our clients on passive fire protection measures, whilst maintaining social distancing guidelines and undertaking the utmost in safety precautions. We all have our part to play in slowing the spread of the coronavirus, so our clients can rest assured we’re taking things seriously.

Team

Our team of experts will be on strict notice: if anyone’s feeling unwell in the slightest, they won’t be attending the site. We’re lucky in that conducting fire risk assessments is a fairly minimal contact job as it is. With that said, carrying out the construction and installation of timber fire doors and passive protection equipment, not so much. With so much going on, in order to adhere to the two metre social distancing regulations, where possible all loads will be reduced to allow them to be safely carried by one person instead of between two.

PPE

Alongside observing social distancing precautions, our team will be wearing all the necessary personal protection equipment to ensure as little chance of transmission as possible. Prior to the Covid pandemic, PPE is already part-and-parcel to what we do; so whether conducting a simple fire validation survey, annual fire risk assessments, fire door assessment or installing fire penetration and sealing systems, you can feel confident in our expertise, professionalism and care from the get-go.

Process

We’ll be wiping down all equipment and tools once we’ve used them; we’ll be practicing regular hand washing, being cognizant to avoid touching handrails and other surfaces throughout day. In the spaces we do enter and work within, we’ll leave nothing behind to be touched or cleared away by another person.

From distancing where our workers park their cars to staggering breaks throughout the day, we’re taking measures. And in doing so, we’re taking responsibility.

Our job is to provide fire safety solutions to your business. And we’re proud to say that we’ll be doing so in the safest way possible for everyone involved, our own team included.

We can’t wait to get back out there. If you’re looking to partner with fire experts who keeps safety at the forefront, Covid or no Covid, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch with the team today.
